The Rudd with its Golden Scaley Flanks and its Scarlet tipped Fins is without a doubt a beautiful Fish.

True Rudd are quite hard to find because the species has a tendacy to hybridize with Roach and Bream, the easiest way to tell if it is a true Rudd is to look at its mouth as a true Rudd has a bottom lip that noticably protrudes beyond the upper lip.

The British Record of 4lb 8oz was set in 1933 and is the longest-standing of all coarse fish records.
